Most of you know that I usually don't like to brag about my kids' accomplishments. It's just not something that I feel most people(except for a few) want to hear me go on and on about. Today, however, I am going to break from the norm only because Ellie worked so hard this year in school. She overcame many obstacles, one of them being reading, to make the honor roll and end this school year with academic excellence in all subjects. She received the citizenship award, as well as a perfect attendance ribbon. Yesterday, she was honored at a school assembly. Ellie's school is very academically focused (it is a blue ribbon school - which means the test scores are in the top 10% among all elementary schools in Texas) and it was a difficult transition from her previous school in Oklahoma. There were times when she wanted to give up and times when I wanted to scream(especially when Kurtis was gone). But, she didn't give up and she gave it all she had. And I think this is one accomplishment that is worth sharing. Way to go, Ellie! We are so proud!

HEY!!! How are you? It was such a great surprise to get your message and now to see your smiling face! Fill me in on things when you get the chance. It looks like we are fellow Army folk-how do you like it? The Army, I mean. Anyway, SO good to hear from you! Talk to you soon!
